Rolling with (Dis)Advantage

Partially pulled from Fifth Edition with little shame.

Skill points imply a character knows how to do something with either experience or learned knowledge. It doesn’t take into account a character who’s actually done said skill thousands of times.

eg. A monk who has grappled, flipped and taken down thousands of opponents wouldn’t critically fail 1/20 times.

To roll with advantage roll two D20’s and take the higher number. To roll with disadvantage roll two D20’s and take the lower. Rolling with (dis)advantage is fully up to the DM’s discretion. An attack roll MAY NEVER be made with advantage.

GM ADVICE. It is advised to give out (dis)advantage sparingly and only for instances that even the thought of a character failing is absurd.
